Circumcision is an operation during which the foreskin of the penis is fully or partially removed. The operation may be performed for medical reasons i.e. some types of phimosis, which cannot be treated with less invasive methods, however, some parents chose to have it performed on their healthy children. Circumcision is also known as foreskin amputation.
